RCWSA General Manager gives Monthly Report

Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) General Manager Brendan Thompson recently gave his monthly report for January 2021 to the Authority.  The January 2021 ending balance on RCWSA Operating Bank Account is $189,520.84.  For the South Water System, the January 2021 water bill has been delivered to the City of Clayton. Unit Rate is $3.19/1000 gallons beginning in July 2020. The Water Bill Amount is $97,641.38.  The Lake Rabun WTP pumped to distribution system volume for December 2020 was 39,284,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for January 2021 was 36,317,000 gallons; a decrease of 2,967,000 gallons or -7.6% from December 2020 to January 2021.  Pumped to distribution system volume for January 2020 was 33,429,000 gallons; an increase of 2,888,000 gallons or 8.6% from January 2020 to January 2021.  The City of Clayton’s January 2020 volume was 30,657,217 gallons.  The City of Clayton’s January 2021 volume was 30,608,582 gallons. A difference of -48,635 gallons or -.2% decrease.  Customers’ January 2021 meter readings were done on January 25, 2021, and bills were sent out on January 29, 2021.  Unaccounted for water volume for the month of January 2021 was 7.10%.  For the North Water System, the Little Tennessee WTP pumped to the distribution system for December 2020 was 12,741,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for January 2021 was 13,508,000 gallons; an increase of 767,000 gallons or 6.02% from December 2020 to January 2021.  Customers’ January 2021 meter readings were done on January 25, 2021, and bills were sent out on January 29, 2021.  Unaccounted for water volume for the month of January 2021 was 8.10%.  In addition, fire hydrant maintenance and valve exercising is ongoing.
