RCSO Informs Residents of Efforts for Protection

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office would like to inform residents of its ongoing efforts to protect our residents, visitors, and critical infrastructure. In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium.

The Sheriff’s Office maintains a working relationship with the Federal Bureau of Investigation-Joint Terrorism Task Force in Atlanta and receives intelligence reports from it and the Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center (GISAC) very frequently.

On Tuesday, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office coordinated and hosted multiple local and state law enforcement officers from agencies across Northeast Georgia for a terrorism related presentation. Multiple agencies presented officers with the latest trends and tactics of terrorist related organizations and specifically how these groups are targeting America’s youth through social media.

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office says that if you see something suspicious, don’t hesitate to call 911 and report the information..
