Rabun Gap hosts Cannon in 1st Round of Football Playoffs

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School Eagles varsity football team hosts the Cannon Cougars in the first round of the playoffs on Friday, November 4, 2022.  The Eagles are 7-3 on the season and the Cougars are 5-5.  Rabun Gap Director of Sports Information and Assistant to the Athletic Director, Coach Connor Cohea is excited to host a playoff football game at Zavala Family Stadium.  “First off, it’s always good to be in the playoffs.  I think after last Friday it was a good ending to the regular season for us but now is when the real football starts and there is no room for error.  We take on Cannon, who is a really good football team.  They’re coming out of the Charlotte area and they are coming down to play us at Rabun Gap.  So, having a home playoff game is always huge and we are excited for the challenge.  We are just stressing to our guys the little things.  To be disciplined, the margin of error is now smaller, you really have to be on your Xs and Qs on what you are doing in executing the game plan.  Cannon is a very good football team and we are going to start preparing for them this week with our guys.  So, we are very excited but obviously excited to be at home for a playoff game.”  The Rabun Gap versus Cannon game kicks off Friday, November 4, 2022, at 6pm in Zavala Family Stadium.  If you can’t make it to the game, you can listen to it on Real Country 100.3.
