Rabun Gap Football Game cancelled with AC Reynolds

Due to COVID exposures at AC Reynolds, tonight’s, September 10, varsity football game at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School has been cancelled, explains Athletic Director Dale Earnhardt.  “We found out, unfortunately, Wednesday right at the beginning of practice I got a message that they needed to speak with me and then they just found out around noon that day that they had some issues.  So, we spent the next 24-36 hours trying to track down an opponent.  We spoke to numerous schools and just could not agree with somebody that would be willing to make the trip.  So, we ended up having to make that final decision Thursday evening about 4:30pm and we decided that let’s go ahead and cancel and just start looking forward to next week’s opponent.”  The Rabun Gap Eagles are next scheduled to play at Christ School on September 17.  The Eagles hope to have their first home game under the lights of their new stadium on Friday, September 24, against Charlotte Country Day School.
