Rabun Gap earns Silver Distinction on 2023 AP School Honor Roll

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School reports that it earned the silver distinction on the 2023 AP School Honor Roll. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results and broadening access for students. This award highlights Rabun Gap’s commitment to academic success and college preparation. Criteria for the AP Honor Roll are based on a school’s ability to increase the school’s college-going culture, provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximize college readiness. In the Class of 2023, 75% of seniors took at least one AP exam during high school, and more than 50% earned scores of three or higher. “This is a big accomplishment for our AP students and faculty, especially noting our international student population with students from more than 50 countries taking AP exams. For many of these students, English is their second language. I am incredibly proud of our AP program,” said Director of College Counseling Cheryl Barber. Rabun Gap offers 15+ Advanced Placement classes in a broad spectrum of subjects, including literature, history, world languages, technology, mathematics, and the sciences. This year, there are 365 enrollments in AP classes. Rabun Gap’s applied learning model allows students in these advanced classes to not only prepare for the AP exam but also practically apply what they’re learning through hands-on projects and community partnerships.
