Rabun County Voters Display Impressive Turnout

Rabun County natives Matt Gurtler and Kent Woerner have spent the last few weeks campaigning, and trying to receive votes needed to win in the runoff election for district 8 house. Registered voters in Rabun County have provided impressive numbers when it comes to participating in early voting.

“So far, we have had 772 voters come in the office to do in-person voting (as of Tuesday, July 19). We have had 296 paper ballots returned, for a grand total of 1,068.” says Board of Elections Supervisor, Tammy Whitmire, giving an update of how many voters have entered the doors and have casted their ballot since July 5th.

Whitmire also reminds Rabun County residents that there is still some time left for those who have yet to cast their ballots. The final day for early voting is at 5pm on Friday evening.

Election day is next Tuesday, July 26.
