Rabun County TDA Planning for Rare Event in 2017

The year 2016 may be just a little under halfway completed, but that does not mean that residents and tourists alike are not excited for an event that will take place in the county in 2017.

The Rabun County Tourism Development Authority is working to plan ahead for the total solar eclipse that will develop on August 21st of 2017. There was a meeting held with area stakeholders, where it was announced that some hotels in Rabun County are booked solid for this event.

The authority also mentioned that a new countdown clock has been installed at Goats on the Roof, that is visible to those travelling north into Clayton on Highway 441.

The Tourism Development Authority says that additional marketing efforts are being planned, as this event only occurs only once an average of 375 years.
