Rabun County Sheriff’s Office runs for Courtney at MADD Event

Members of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Atlanta on Saturday, October 29, 2022, to run in the Run Like MADD Event at Mercedes Benz Stadium in honor of Cpl. Courtney Zajdowicz, who was killed by a drunk driver.  Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols said it was a great day to remember her.  “It was a beautiful morning in Atlanta to honor an amazing young woman that was taken too soon. The Sheriff’s Office participated in the Run Like MADD Event.  MADD Georgia did a wonderful job of honoring the victims that were seriously injured or killed by drunk drivers on our Georgia roadways which included Cpl. Courtney Zajdowicz. It was an honor to run in her memory and to support MADD’s mission to end drunk driving. Look for information in the fall of 2023 if you would like to participate with us next year. Remember that drunk driving is a 100% preventable crime.”  Please if you choose to drink alcohol, choose a designated driver.
