Rabun County Schools become Center of Possible Threat

According to Chief of Patrol Jeff Harris, the Rabun County Sheriffs Office began investigating a possible threat towards Rabun County Schools that was made on a Facebook page Tuesday night.

According to Chief Investigator of the Rabun County Sheriffs office Jack Tanksley, suspicion arose during an instant message conversation between a female, and the facebook page’s administrator

“a question was asked to (The administrator) about someone coming to the school and shooting.” Tanksley said, “he made the comment, “maybe””

But after uncovering more information, Tanksley believes the comment was taken out of context

“He had two questioned asked to him back to back. He said “maybe”to the first question. Once we got the whole print-out, you could see where the comment did not feed into him saying that he, or anyone else, was coming to shoot.

Tanksley says that the incident is still under investigation. Rabun County Investigators will visit the home of the Facebook page’s administrator, in hopes to close the investigation.
