Rabun County Road Department dealing with Mudslides

The Rabun County Road Department has been dealing with over 50 mudslides and over 15 major road washouts from the storms that have come through the area dumping in excess of 10 plus inches of rain.  The Rabun County Road Department will continue to work on all the issues and improve them for the future.  The Rabun County Road Department has finished paving several miles of road in the county, including new paving of Boykin Road, Deer Hill Road, and 11.8 miles of resurface. There are still several miles of road striping to be completed, weather permitting. The Rabun County Road Department is currently looking into options to fix the Bear Gap culverts due to the number of washouts from heavy rains.
