Rabun County Rec Football Scores

Rainy Saturday morning games finally gave way to a nice afternoon of football at Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium in Tiger, reports the Rabun County Recreation Department.  The 7U team won in a back and forth contest versus a scrappy Franklin County team, 26-22. Owen Shirley had a great day rushing the football with several long runs.  This sets up the 7U for a win and you’re in scenario for next Saturday’s game at Cherokee Bluff vs. the Bears.  A loss means we are out of the playoffs.  The 8U lost to a strong Franklin County squad, 0-40. They also travel to Bluff next Saturday for their season finale.  The 9U team sealed a playoff berth and a first-round bye for the playoffs with a 21-0 win over Cherokee Bluff. They will play at Franklin County on Saturday and then play the winner of the 4 and 5 seed teams on Nov. 14.  The 11U team lost to Oglethorpe County 28-13 but still have playoff hopes alive. They travel to Winder Barrow High School Saturday to play a neutral site game vs. Elbert County.
