Rabun County Library Director moving back Home

Rabun County is looking for a new library director.  After eight years serving the citizens of Rabun County, Stephanie Howard is moving back home to South Carolina.  “Rabun County was my first library director position. I had been a manager for a really long time and it was just amazing from the get-go, people in Rabun County really support the library, which has been a lot of fun.  They use the library, we are really busy, we’ve been able to do some amazing things like expand the collection and expand the services.” This was an opportunity she could not refuse, continues Howard. “A lot of times people leave jobs when they are not happy or it is not a right fit, but for me, I love this job, but it was just an opportunity that came up that I could not refuse.  I will be the new library director in Pickens County, South Carolina, over four libraries in Liberty, Pickens, Easley, and Clemson-Central. So, hopefully, some folks will come to visit me over there, it’s not too far away. So, I will be over four libraries and that is where I grew up near Clemson, so I am going back home. So, I have had a great time here and we have a great staff, so I know that the library will continue to do amazing things and it will be great going forward.”  Howard’s last day as director of the Rabun County Public Library will be August 7. The county is currently seeking Howard’s replacement and more information about that job opening is available online at www.rabuncountylibrary.org.
