Rabun County Elections Office processing More Absentee Ballots

With the COVID-19 pandemic still looming, many people are choosing to cast absentee ballots in the upcoming Nov. 3, General Election.  Rabun County Elections Supervisor Tammy Whitmire gives the numbers.  “Here in Rabun County, we’ve had 2,939 people request an absentee ballot, out of that amount we’ve already received back 964.  We’d also like to inform people there is a new app from the Secretary of State that you can actually ask for an absentee ballot online.  That new website is www.ballotrequest.sos.ga.gov and you can go there and ask for an absentee ballot online.  We also have a new dropbox for absentee ballots that is located outside on the wall here at the Elections Office.  It has essential absentee ballots written on the box and it is easy to spot.  So, if you don’t want to mail your ballot in, you can come by and hand-deliver it by dropping it in that box.”  The Rabun County Elections Office is located at 18 Old Raco High Drive, Suite 105, in Clayton.
