Rabun County Could Make Playoffs

As the season is getting ready to come to a conclusion, the Rabun County Wildcats are hoping to reach the playoffs for the first time since the 90s.

Rabun County High School Football Coach Lee Shaw says the Wildcats need a victory on Friday night.

“We just need to take of business. We need to make sure take care of us and don’t rely on anybody else,” said Shaw. “When I say that, we need to win. When we win, we’re in without a doubt, and we’d be the fourth seed.”

A Rabun win or a Union County loss secures the 4th seed for the Wildcats, but Coach Shaw says he would much rather win and be in the driver’s seat.

Should the Wildcats make the playoffs as the 4th seed in Region 8-AA, Rabun County would face the number 1 seed from region 5-AA, which would be either Heard County, Bowdon, or Manchester.
