Rabun Co. Sheriff’s Office investigating Forgery

On Feb. 3, 2021, an investigator of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office began looking into the passing of counterfeit money at the Walmart on Highway 441 in Clayton.  The store’s loss prevention officer reported that $200 in counterfeit $20 bills had been recently collected.  Passing counterfeit money is a crime of theft by forgery in the first-degree.  The case is under investigation.
