Rabun Co. Sheriff’s Office investigating Financial Transaction Card Fraud

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a financial transaction card fraud case in Clayton.  On March 29, a deputy met with the complainant, who stated that she was notified by Bank of America of possible fraudulent activity on her credit account.  Someone had used her account to purchase lodging at a foreign hotel in the amount of $2,024.  She told the deputy that she has already taken appropriate steps to ensure the account can no longer be accessed.
