Rabun Co. Sheriff’s Office hosts Successful 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament

On August 30, 2022, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office hosted the third Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament benefiting the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes.  Sheriff Chad Nichols says it was a successful event this year at the Waterfall Club.  “It went great.  Probably as close to perfect weather as you could get.  We probably had the highest amount raised in the years we’ve done it so far with the least number of celebrities.  It’s weird how that worked out but we had former Atlanta Braves Ryan Klesko and Kevin Millwood and they have been there since the first year.  Also, I think we had four or five other sheriffs attend from counties close by.”  Sheriff Nichols gives the amount raised at the tournament this year.  “We were able to raise along with the participants and sponsors just shy of $25,000 and that will all go to the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes to cover whatever they may need.”  Over 60 years ago, sheriffs of Georgia founded the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes, a residential care program, to help children who have been abandoned, neglected, and abused.  To learn more, visit www.georgiasheriffsyouth.org.
