Rabun Co. Sheriff speaks to Legislators

Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols spoke to legislators in Peachtree City on Thursday, October 6, 2022, about the need for employees in law enforcement.  “I was honored to be asked to come down and represent our county and Northeast Georgia.  I testified in front of a Georgia House Committee that has been created to discuss the different compensations of benefits across Georgia.  With the shortage of people for jobs in law enforcement now, from police departments to sheriff’s offices to jails.  They formed this committee and I was invited to come down and just give the rural and Northeast Georgia perspective on this issue.”  The House Committee will examine pay, benefits, and ways to attract more qualified people to positions in law enforcement.
