Rabun Co. Rec Football Teams advance to Playoffs

The Rabun County Recreation Department hosted the final regular-season youth football games this past Saturday at Rabun County High School.  It was a rainy day but the Junior Wildcats still played well, tells Rabun County Recreation Department Athletic Director Adam Dixon. “Well we had a rainy Saturday but the field held up great and we had several good football games.  We had five games and they were all held at the high school. We have four teams that have made the playoffs, four out of five teams. Those playoff games are starting this Saturday, Nov. 2. We are actually hosting five games with some of our Rabun County teams being here and one being on the road.  So, we’re pretty lucky the way it all fell out. We have our 7U team, 8U team, and 10U all playing at home for their first playoff game and our 9U team is on the road this weekend but four out of five teams making the playoffs is pretty awesome.” The Rabun County 7U team lost to Banks County 12-7 to fall to 2-5 on the season, the 8U team beat Banks County 33-0 to improve to 7-0, the 9U team defeated North Hall 26-6 to improve to 4-3, the 10U team beat Johnson 20-19 to improve to 4-3, and the 11U team lost to Banks County 32-0 to fall to 0-7.  In the playoffs, the 7U team hosts North Hall at 9am, the 8U team welcomes Franklin County at 10:30am, the 9U team travels to Jackson County for a noon game, the 10U team hosts Franklin County at 1:30pm. The 11U team did not make the playoffs this year.
