Public Meetings scheduled for updates of Local Comprehensive Plans

The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission (GMRC) is assisting Habersham County and the municipalities of Clarkesville, Alto, Cornelia, Demorest, and Mount Airy with the updates of their Comprehensive Plans, the State required documents that helps shape and coordinate local work programs for the communities. These planning processes are designed to ensure that major projects and policies for the community are developed with public input, ensuring a level of coordination between local and State level interests.  These processes will include multiple opportunities for public input, with the next public forums on the dates and times listed below. Meetings will review the needs and goals for each community and what options and resources are available to local governments in preparation for the future. Citizens are encouraged to participate in as many events as possible and share their thoughts on the future of Habersham County and its municipalities.
