Piedmont University to host 2nd Annual LionFest

Piedmont University’s 2nd Annual LionFest, an afternoon with live music, arts and crafts, and food and drink vendors will take place Saturday, April 22, from 11am-4pm at the Arrendale Amphitheater on the Demorest campus.  “LionFest celebrates both Piedmont University and the Habersham and Northeast Georgia community,” said Mark Elam, assistant vice president for university advancement, whose department organizes LionFest.  “We invite everyone to come to campus for a great day with friends, family, and neighbors.”  Presented in conjunction with the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce, LionFest will feature The Nic Johnson Band. Johnson, a Piedmont alumnus, will perform from 2-4 p.m.  Additional performers will open the day with music starting at noon.  In addition to live entertainment, LionFest will feature 20 arts and crafts and other vendors, as well as food and drink vendors.  There are also Lions home games on that Saturday. The Piedmont University men’s and women’s lacrosse teams will play Greensboro College at the Walker Athletic Complex behind the Mize Athletic Center. Games begin at noon.  LionFest and the lacrosse games are free to attend and open to the public.  The Arrendale Amphitheater is located at 359 College Drive, and the Mize Athletic Center is located at 280 Laurel Avenue in Demorest.  For more information, visit https://alumni.piedmont.edu/e/lionfest-23.
