Paws 4 Life Has the Keys

Rabun Paws 4 Life is nearly ready to begin operating the Animal Shelter in Rabun County.

Shannon Conrad, the CEO of Paws 4 Life, explained that they have now entered into an agreement for the building which houses the animal control and animal shelter facilities.

“We are very pleased to announce that we have signed all contracts needed, we’ve received our license by the state and the Georgia Department of Agriculture, and we now have the keys are ready to open operations in the old Boggs Mountain Shelter.”

Conrad said they hope to begin operating very soon, and are in the process of making sure they have all of the necessary inventory, but there are a few immediate needs.

“We hope to be able to start intaking sometime next week,” said Conrad. “We’ll have more information once we get a little further into the process. We’re still in need of some computers and stuff like that to get the actual operation up and running before we can intake.”

As part of their effort to be transparent, Paws 4 Life has a Public Hearing planned next Thursday. More details on that to come.
