SUWANEE, Ga.,-Georgia DOT construction partners will close both lane of Interstate 985 (I-985) northbound  for the transport and installation of bridge beams used to construct the Georgia Express Lane extension on Interstate 85 (I-85).

A single lane closure on I-985 north will begin at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 and progress to a double lane closure at 11 p.m. This double lane closure will remain until 5 a.m. Friday, July, 28, 2017.

Both northbound lanes will be closed on  I-985 at the I-85/I-985 split. Traffic traveling northbound on I-985 will be detoured by way of I-85 to exit 115 then to State Route 20 to the I-985 on ramp.

The detour is approximately 6 miles in length, drivers will need to slow down when approaching the work zone.
