Over 1,000 Cases of COVID-19 have now been reported in Rabun County

There have now been over 1,000 positive cases of COVID-19 reported in Rabun County since March of 2020.  According to the latest figures from the Georgia Department of Public Health, Rabun County now has 1,070 positive cases of the respiratory virus.  There have been 190 cases reported in Rabun County in the last two weeks.  In addition, 17 people have died from the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic.  In neighboring counties, Habersham County reports 3,640 cases and 89 deaths, White County lists 2,098 cases and 34 fatalities, and Towns County has had 755 cases and 26 deaths.  According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of  587,076 positive cases of the virus across the state, of those, 42,483 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 9,893.
