Otto Man arrested for Driving on a Suspended Registration

On Dec. 22, a deputy of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling Highway 76 West when they observed a 2010 Ford Focus headed into Clayton.  The vehicle had no tag lights and dispatch notified the deputy that the registration was suspended with unknown insurance status. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the tag office parking lot on Savannah Street.  The deputy spoke to the driver, identified as 54-year-old Timothy Theodore Talley of Otto, North Carolina, and asked why he had still not fixed his registration since an earlier encounter on a previous traffic stop. Talley said he was in the process of moving and had not had time to fix the registration yet.  He was then arrested for driving a motor vehicle on a suspended registration and failure to maintain insurance. He was booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the two charges.
