Only 59 COVID-19 Cases reported in Rabun County in Last Two Weeks

Positive cases of COVID-19 are starting to slow down in Rabun County.  According to the latest figures from the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have now been 1,385 cases of the deadly respiratory virus in Rabun County with only 59 new cases reported in the last two weeks.  There have also been 34 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Rabun County since the beginning of the global pandemic last March.  In other neighboring counties, Habersham County has had 4,458 cases and 127 deaths, White County lists 2,781 cases and 55 fatalities, and Towns County reports 952 cases and 34 deaths.  According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of 783,821 positive cases of the virus across the state, of those, 52,853 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 13,672.
