Oil Up, Gas Prices Down

Despite oil reaching its highest price of the year, the national average price for gasoline declined Sunday, for the first time since rising 27 cents during a period of 25 consecutive days and now stands at $2.65. During that same time, price rose 30 cents in Georgia, and 28 cents in Florida and Tennessee. U.S. gas prices are now exactly $1 cheaper than this time last year and motorists are saving an average of $15 on a full tank of gas. In Georgia the current average price of $2.55 is 6 cents more than last week, 30 cents higher than a month ago and $1.10 less than this time last year.  Rabun County started the week at $2.45, up 9 cents from the start of last week but down a $1.07 from this same time last year.
