Norton elected to YHC’s Board of Trustees 

On Nov. 13, 2020, Young Harris College’s Board of Trustees elected Jason Norton, ’02, as a trustee.  Norton is a financial advisor, a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and the founder and CEO of Norton Financial. His company’s mission is to build strategies designed to help clients protect their assets for retirement and successfully transfer wealth to loved ones or charities. Norton has created a step-by-step wealth building and preservation process while acting as an independent advocate and guide for his clients.  Norton grew up in Young Harris, Georgia, and attended Hayesville High School in Hayesville, North Carolina. He started his college career at Young Harris College and earned an Associate of Science in International Business in 2002. He was a beneficiary of YHC’s Local Scholarship fund during his time on campus. He continued his college career at the University of West Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics.  Norton, his wife Megan Lamb Norton, also a 2002 YHC graduate, and their three children reside in Carroll County, Georgia. He serves as a director of the Carroll County Sertoma Club among other ventures, like his involvement with the Board of Associates of KidsPeace in Bowdon, Georgia. The Norton family enjoys the outdoors, including fishing, hiking and traveling.  “We’re elated to have a Young Harris College alum join our Board of Trustees,” shares Dr. Drew L.
