No Public Comment on Millage Rate Increase for Clayton

A public hearing was held Tuesday in the City of Clayton for a proposed millage rate increase.  No one spoke at the meeting, tells Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry. “We had a public hearing on the millage rate for the City of Clayton and we had no comments from anyone in the audience.”  Henry gives the reason for the millage rate increase to 8.7685. “It is going up a little bit. With all the growth that we have in town and the things that we need to get done in this next fiscal year it was necessary that we had to raise the millage.”  The Clayton City Council is set to vote on the millage rate increase at their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 4pm.
