No COVID-19 Infections at Mountain View Health and Rehab

Despite the growing global COVID-19 pandemic, there are still no infections at Mountain View Health and Rehab in Clayton, says Director of Marketing and Community Relations Ross McIntire.  “So, currently we are COVID-19 negative.  We are still running our isolation wing to limit the exposure of the residents for anyone who goes out for dialysis, a wound clinic, or the hospital.  We are isolating them for 14 days just to limit the exposure.  We did have a dry run this past week with a resident that tested negative but we did adhere to the emergency preparedness guidelines for how to handle that and we are really proud of our team and how well they did.”  There is still no visitation at Mountain View Health and Rehab, adds McIntire.  “We’re still not allowing visitors right now.  We’re not sure when that will end.  We’re still trying to do one-on-one activities.  We’re offering Zoom calls to residents with their families so that they can kind of feel as connected as they possibly can.  We actually had an Ipad donated to us from Habersham EMC and the community has just been pretty incredible so far with helping to try to make us feel like we are still a part of it even though we’re kind of shut off here in our own little world.”  Mountain View Health and Rehab is a medium-sized nursing home facility serving 93 residents.  The facility on Warwoman Road hopes to allow visitors soon once the global health pandemic subsides and the CDC lifts the guideline restrictions that are currently in place.
