Mountain Judicial Circuit Family Violence Task Force presents DA with honorary award

Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols among other leading members in the Mountain Judicial Circuit Family Violence Task Force presented Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Christian with an appreciation award for his work with victim advocates.

The awards ceremony was held in the Rabun County Courthouse mid-afternoon Thursday where many advocates of domestic violence attended in support of Christian.

Jennifer Thomas, the Director of the Georgia Commission on Family Violence was also in attendance and presented Christian with the plaque.

“We’re here to celebrate and appreciate a tireless advocate. You all know George Christian has been your district attorney for the Mountain Circuit since 2016 when Gov. Nathan Deal appointed him. We also know that Christian has built his career around assisting and supporting victims. One of the first things Christian did as district attorney was to stop by the local domestic violence shelter, FAITH and also Circle of Hope to ensure staff that he was here for victims,” Christian said. “That speaks volumes.”
