Meet the Candidates forum to be held Monday at the City of Clayton Courtroom

CLAYTON The Rabun County Republican Party and the Rabun County Chamber of Commerce are jointly hosting a candidate forum scheduled for Monday, April 30th, which is the first day of early voting in advance of the May 22nd Primary Elections.

The candidate forum will take place at the City of Clayton Courtroom and will kick off at 6:30 p.m. where guests will learn more about the representatives seeking their vote.

Each of the four county local races are being contested as well as Georgia House of Representatives District 8 race.

Refreshments will be provided and information about candidates for all races on the ballot will be available at this community event which is open to the public at no charge.

The moderator will be former Dillard City Councilman Roy Defoor and questions are being accepted. Those wanting to submit can do so on this facebook page, or e-mailing the Rabun County GOP Chairman, Carolee Williams at [email protected]

Questions will also be accepted, in writing, before the start of the forum.

Each race will be presented separately with a two-minute opening statement and then each race will have a minimum 15 minute period in which questions will be asked, with each candidate having two minutes to respond. Should a reference be made to the opponent, they will get one minute to respond.

Before the event, all of the local candidates will be available for the public to greet and all are encouraged to have literature and yard signs available for pick up.
