Local Team Puts up a SWARM of Runs in Championship

Swarm Baseball, a local travel ball team brought a big win to the region this month, winning the State Triple Crown 14 and under Tournament…

“We got kids from Rabun, Toccoa, Franklin, Highlands, all in between there.”

Said Kevin Kussow, Coach of Swarm Baseball…

“Sunday we ended up winning the title, about 11:30 at night Sunday night. Extreme Baseball is the team we beat for the championship, it was 16-7. We had them 14-1 after the second inning.”

Swarm Baseball in no stranger to championships…

“Yeah, it’s a pretty big deal to win any state tournament, and it’s actually the second time this teams done this. We won Triple A State when we were 12 year olds, and we’ve been scrapping to get back in this and they’ve bumped us up, so we’re now, well there’s majors and we’re triple A right now, and we’re playing both AAA and majors team. So yeah, to move up a whole nother level and win State again, that’s a pretty big achievement. The kids that we have are the same kids we had then, and we just keep getting better, and better, and better, and I’m pretty darn proud of them.”
