K9 unit recovers slew of illegal narcotics

Deputies from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a North Carolina woman who was allegedly selling illegal narcotics.

On Monday, a deputy along with K9 Doug initiated a traffic stop on US 441/GA 15 and Camp Creek Road for what was initially thought to be for window tint and tag light violations.

Upon K9 Doug’s deployment and thorough search of the 2010 BMW model 3281, multiple pills suspected to be Methamphetamine and Oxycodone were recovered.

As a result, the driver Waylon Lee Sequoyah, 38, of Cherokee, North Carolina was arrested for Possession of a Schedule ll Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), 5 counts of Possession of a Schedule ll Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (Oxycodone), Possession of Drug Related Objects, Prescription Drugs to be Kept in Original Container, Window Tint Violation, and Tag Light Requirements.

Sequoyah was transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.
