Jennings and Heyl headline several All-Region Honorees for TFS

The All-Region 8-A DI teams were announced prior to Saturday’s region championship match at Tallulah Falls School (TFS), reports TFS Athletics.  Directly before the Lady Indians took the court and won their first-ever region title, several from Tallulah Falls earned All-Region distinction.  Senior Sarah Jennings was named Region Player of the Year, marking the first TFS player ever to earn the honors. Coach Matt Heyl was named Coach of the Year, also the first for the program.  All-Region 1st Team members included Jennings, junior Addy McCoy, and senior Kitty Rodenas.  The All-Region 2nd Team included seniors Elsa Sanchez and Sofia Rueda. The Honorable Mention list consisted of junior Ashlyn Yaskiewicz.  TFS is 30-11 overall, just one win shy of the school record of 31 set in 2018. The team, currently ranked #5 in the state and as high as #3, has won five matches against state-ranked opponents this year, and won a school-record 69 of their sets overall. The Lady Indians open the state playoffs next week at home, and are playing in their eighth straight postseason.
