Investigation underway into Forgery

On August 7, 2020, a deputy of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office met with a woman at Rabun County Bank in reference to a forgery incident.  The woman told the deputy that her grandson had stolen eight checks, written them out to himself, and cashed the checks at Rabun County Bank in Clayton and Dillard.  The checks were written between June 7, and July 30, totaling $1,330.  Deputies are now trying to locate the grandson on warrants for forgery in the fourth degree and felony theft by taking.
