Increased Fire Danger

The National Weather Service has issued an increased fire danger in effect until 5pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023, for Northeast Georgia. Relative humidity values will decrease to the 20 to 25 percent range across the higher terrain of Northeast Georgia this afternoon, leading to an increased risk of fire danger through early this evening across much of Rabun County. Burning is highly discouraged. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn. If you do burn, use extreme caution, since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
