Increased Fire Danger

The National Weather Service has issued an increased fire danger in effect from noon on Friday, March 29, 2024, through this evening for Northeast Georgia, including the counties of Rabun, Habersham, Stephens, Franklin, Hart, and Elbert. Dry air and deep mixing will allow the relative humidity to fall to critical values across northeast Georgia this afternoon. Relative Humidity values are expected to be 25 percent or less for several hours this afternoon through early evening. West winds will be 5 to 10 MPH. This combined with dry fuels will result in potentially dangerous fire weather conditions. Refer to your local burn-permitting agency to determine whether you may burn today. If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.
