Increased Fire Danger

The National Weather Service has issued an increased fire danger in effect from noon on Thursday, March 28, 2024, through this evening for part of Northeast Georgia, including Rabun, Habersham, and Stephens counties. Dry air will filter in today and deep mixing will allow RH to fall to critical values across the affected area. Combined with gusty winds, especially in exposed, elevated locations, and already-dry fine fuels, this will result in potentially dangerous fire weather conditions. Refer to your local burn-permitting agency to determine whether you may burn today.  If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.
