Increased Fire Danger

The National Weather Service has issued an increased fire danger in effect from noon on Monday, February 19, 2024, through this afternoon for Rabun, Habersham, Stephens, Franklin, Hart, and Elbert counties in Northeast Georgia. Very dry air in place across the region again today will permit afternoon relative humidity values to fall to between 23 and 25 percent for several hours across northeast Georgia. Winds will remain light, however, drying fuels and brush will combine with the dry air to increase fire danger this afternoon. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today. If you do burn, use caution since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
