High Turnout in Rabun Co. for Runoff Election

A lot of Rabun County voters cast ballots in the General Runoff Election on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in the race for United States Senate, says Rabun County Election Assistant Shay Harbin.  “We’re very happy with the turnout that we had for the December 6, 2022, General Runoff.  We had 7,452 people come out, which is actually 58.74% of our voting population.  That is absolutely amazing and we just want to thank all of our poll workers and everyone who helped make this possible.  It was great that we had so much participation and we just want to say thank you and we will see everyone next election.”  In Rabun County, the majority of voters cast ballots in favor of Republican Herschel Walker.  Walker received 5,746 votes or 77% percent in Rabun County.  Incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock received 1,706 votes or 23% in Rabun County.  For the entire state of Georgia, Warnock was the ultimate winner amassing a total of 1,804,189 votes or 51%, whereas Walker received 1,714,055 votes or 48%.
