High-speed motorcycle chase ends in crash

Late last week, one Flordia woman and one North Carolina man were arrested on a slew of charges after leading authorities on a multi-county high-speed motorcycle chase.

Last Thursday around 1 a.m., Rabun County Dispatch alerted all units on duty of an active chase in progress coming from North Carolina into Georgia.

Deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the chase, along with officers from the Franklin Police Department, and began pursuing the fleeing subjects who were speeding at rates exceeding 100 miles per hour on a motorcycle.

Neither subjects were wearing any protective gear as they continued heading south on GA 15 according to authorities.

The chase ensued as the motorcycle began to drive into oncoming traffic before eventually losing control and ultimately crashing near Mountain City Road in Clayton.

Both sustained serious injuries and received medical attention before being detained by local law enforcement.

While attempting to identify the subjects, deputies located the following items; two syringes, a spoon wrapped in cellophane with a rock like substance and a bag containing a white powder suspected of being cocaine.

Kelsie Tokar, 32, of Sarasota, FL and Hayden Holton, 24, of Franklin, North Carolina both remain in custody.
