Hazardous Weather Outlook for Rabun County

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia, including Rabun County.  Numerous thunderstorms are expected across the region, with the peak chance being from midday through late evening on Thursday, June 3.  Any thunderstorm will be capable of cloud-to-ground lightning and torrential rainfall.  Additionally, conditions will be favorable for a few strong to severe storms to develop, mainly posing a risk of damaging winds. Excessive runoff from heavy rain may lead to minor flooding in flood-prone areas.
