Hazardous Weather Outlook for Rabun County

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for piedmont North Carolina, western North Carolina, upstate South Carolina, and northeast Georgia, including Rabun County.  Scattered thunderstorms will develop Wednesday afternoon, June 2, with some chance of continuing overnight tonight. Cloud-to-ground lightning and localized areas of heavy rainfall will be the primary threats with these thunderstorms.  In addition, a weak frontal system moving across the area Thursday and Thursday night, June 3, is likely to bring thunderstorms, some of which may produce torrential rainfall. Excessive runoff may lead to minor flooding in flood-prone areas. A few of these storms may also produce severe weather, primarily in the form of damaging winds.
