Hazardous Weather Outlook for Northeast Georgia

The National Weather Service in Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina has issued a hazardous weather outlook for western North Carolina, upstate South Carolina, and northeast Georgia, including Rabun County.  An area of showers and scattered thunderstorms will move into the area early Friday in advance of a cold front. While the greatest threat for severe weather is expected to remain southwest of the area, a few of these storms could produce severe weather in the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia, mainly west of U.S. Highway 25. Damaging winds are expected to be the primary severe weather threat.
