Hazardous Weather Outlook

The National Weather Service in Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina has issued a hazardous weather outlook for western North Carolina, upstate South Carolina, and northeast Georgia, including Rabun County.  A late-season strong cold front is forecast to push through the area Wednesday and may support strong to severe thunderstorms, with damaging wind gusts being the main threat. Heavy rain may cause localized flooding, especially across the mountains in northeast Georgia and the southwest-facing slopes of the western North Carolina mountains.
