Habersham County E-911 Children’s Fun Fest set Oct. 19

Thousands of people are expected to attend the 16th-annual Habersham County E-911 Children’s Fun Fest on Thursday, Oct. 19. The free event, held at the Habersham County Fairgrounds on Toccoa Highway near Clarkesville, is organized by dispatchers at Habersham County E-911. There will be trunk or treat, interactive exhibits, a hayride, wrestling exhibitions, public safety personnel, and vehicles, and helicopters (weather permitting). Children and their parents will be able to visit booths inside the Dewey H. Tench Market Pavilion at the fairgrounds, where they can visit with 9-1-1 dispatchers, firefighters, law enforcement personnel, paramedics, animal control staff, and others. Costumes are welcome and families are encouraged to bring their cameras. Parking will begin at 4:30pm in the parking lot on the Diamond Memorial Fields (“Little League”) side of the fairgrounds complex. Gates open at 5pm and close at 8pm. No early admission is allowed. The Habersham County Fairgrounds complex is located at 4235 Toccoa Highway, Clarkesville.
