Habersham Co. E-911 announces creation of Logan’s Law Database

Habersham County E-911 in partnership with the Georgia Emergency Communications Authority (GECA), announces the creation of Logan’s Law database, beginning June 2, 2023.  This feature will help 9-1-1 operators to alert first responders that there are individuals in the home who may have special needs. “In an emergency, safety is always a primary concern,” said Lynn Smith, Director of Habersham County E-911.  “We are encouraging all Habersham County residents to register your family member who may have a special need into our database by filling out the Special Concerns Information Sheet and returning it to the 911 center.”  To obtain a copy of the Special Concerns Information Sheet or more information you can call the dispatch center at 706-778-3911.  This feature helps assist law, fire, and EMS departments to respond more compassionately once dispatched.  Identify any triggers that may be overwhelming to an individual.  Assist first responders in knowing who or what to look for.  Promote cost efficiency by providing the most appropriate response.  Reducing the burden on law enforcement, public health, and other safety resources.  Logan’s Law Special Concerns Response Information Sheets are available for pickup now at the Alto Police Department, Baldwin Police Department, Clarkesville Police Department, Clarkesville-Habersham County Library, Cornelia-Habersham County Library, Cornelia Police Department, Demorest Police Department, Habersham County Airport near Baldwin, Habersham County Administration Building Commissioner’s Office lobby, Habersham County Administration Building lobby literature rack, Habersham County Courthouse Security desk, Habersham County Emergency Services Headquarters at Station 9, 4263 Hollywood Highway, Clarkesville (Hollywood), Habersham County Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville, Habersham County Sheriff’s Office in Clarkesville, Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville, McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home in Cornelia, Mt.
