Greene appointed to Habersham EMC Board

On February 25, 2020, the Habersham EMC Board of Directors appointed Vonda Greene to fill a vacancy in the East District. Greene becomes the first woman to serve on the HEMC Board of Directors.  A Habersham County native, Greene grew up on her family’s poultry and cattle farm in the New Liberty area. She has twenty-two years of banking experience and is currently the Compliance Officer/BSA Officer/Internal Auditor at Southern Bank & Trust. Greene has also obtained the following professional certifications: Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified At-Risk-Adult Crime Tactics Specialist (ACTS). She has previously served on the Habersham EMC Member Advisory Board, the Nominating Committee and the Credentials and Election Committee. Her community involvement includes the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce, American Cancer Society and the March of Dimes. Greene is a member of Christwalk Church in Cornelia.  “I feel that I have a skill set that can be used for the greater good of the co-op. Our growing communities that we serve expect excellence from our board. I believe that my experience and community relationships can foster a positive vision for the future,” Greene shares.  “I am excited to serve on the Habersham EMC Board of Directors! Through positive action and quality relationships, we can propel our co-op into the future. I am open-minded, ready to learn and prepared to work. Together we can continue to cultivate high-quality performance standards within our co-op.”  Greene is the daughter of Horace and Nedra Eller. She lives in Clarkesville with her husband, Robert. Together the couple has five children and two grandchildren.
