Graduation Rate increases in Rabun County Schools

Congratulations to the Rabun County High School Class of 2020 for increasing the graduation rate.  Rabun County Schools Superintendent Dr. April Childers is proud of the students and teachers for this tremendous accomplishment.  “We just received our numbers a few days ago from the Georgia Department of Education and our graduation rate for the 2020 Class is 92.9 percent, that’s a .7 percent increase over 2019.  As we celebrate that, we celebrate it PreK-12 because graduation is not a high school event, it’s an education event.  Our teachers work hard to instill quality learning and success from the day they enter PreK.  So, a shout out to all of our teachers a time to celebrate that achievement for all of them.”  Overall, Georgia’s graduation rate increased in 2020, rising to 83.8 percent, which is an all-time high since the state began using the adjusted cohort calculation now required by federal law, and up from 82 percent in 2019.  In 2020, 105 Georgia school districts and 230 schools recorded graduation rates at or above 90 percent.
